These Mourning Dove frequent feeders with sunflower seeds.  They patiently wait until the other birds knock the seeds down from the feeder and then go to work

This is a Pinion Jay.  They travel in flocks and are very noisy.  As you can see they can and do knock sunflower seeds on the ground where the chipmunks, dove and other ground birds and dwellers enjoy the feast.  We call the Wa-Wa birds because of their loud cry that sound like Wa-Wa.

The Rufus Humming Bird
This little guy has a bright red throat when the sun is shining on him.  This day was over cast and windy - see the neck feathers fluff up.  This one defends the three feeders we have on the back deck with vigor.

This is a most unusual visitor.  He and his mate visit our yard and stock pond almost every morning.  This is one of the most beautiful birds we have in this area.
